Conversational commerce is selling through a back-and-forth conversation, in a chat on the store or in a messaging channel, instead of only through a catalog page or a search box.
The shopper says what they need. The store, or a tool acting for the store, asks a follow-up and offers a product. That exchange can happen in a widget on the product page, in a messaging app, or inside another company's chat. The catalog page can still exist. The sale does not depend on the shopper browsing it alone.
The phrase covers more than one product. A human in a live chat is conversational commerce. An automated assistant that recommends from the catalog is conversational commerce. A quiz that ends in a product can be, too, if the shopper is answering questions rather than filtering a grid. What they share is the shape of the sale: a turn, then another turn, then a product.
It is easy to mix this up with support chat. Support chat is a conversation, and it can sit on the same storefront, but the job is a ticket: where is my order, how do I return this, what is the policy. Conversational commerce, as merchants use the term when they mean selling, is the conversation that ends in a product the shopper did not already have in the cart.

What Vorena charges
Vorena uses flat monthly plans with a conversation allowance. It is not unlimited. Only Lite ($29 a month, 100 products and 50 conversations) and Starter ($99 a month, 250 products and 500 conversations) can be bought today. A conversation counts toward the allowance when it starts, and the allowance resets monthly. At the limit, the Vorena chat is hidden from the store until the allowance resets next month or the plan is upgraded. Chats already under way can finish. Nothing on Lite or Starter charges for extra conversations. Growth and Scale are coming soon. Plan changes go through Shopify. The pricing page lists both plans.
